Las Rozas launches in December the first autonomous foodtruck in Spain

Downtown businesses will sell their food and drink through the vehicle that will travel the street without a driver. Calle Real will be the first place to see the Goggo Cart, the first autonomous food truck to land in Spain, after China and Switzerland, thanks to Goggo Network, the driverless transport company founded by Martin Varsavsky and Yasmine Fage. The vehicle will move around the city center starting this November and will allow downtown merchants to sell their food and drink in a simple and innovative way, as part of a pilot project, which will last approximately two months, born from the collaboration between Goggo Network and Las Rozas Innova, the Municipal Innovation Company, to attract innovative and sustainable solutions to the city. The Goggo Cart vehicle is provisioned at a center where it collects food, which is deposited in its respective compartments. The vehicle then follows a route established in a fully autonomous way, with several predetermined stopping points and which have been studied through a real mapping already performed on the real street in October. Through a mobile application, users will be able to know at all times the location of the vehicle and the products it holds.

The 9 selected initiatives now begin their incubation process in an itinerary that will run for four months. The most mature projects with growth potential will be able to continue their development with the support of the municipal company Las Rozas Innova. Madrid, November 2021 – The City Council of Las Rozas has launched the 1st edition of “Incuba Las Rozas”, the business project incubation program that aims to promote entrepreneurship and innovation by supporting and accompanying the initiatives of technological and innovative entrepreneurs, while promoting a labor market that generates quality employment. An initiative promoted by the Department of Economy, Employment and Innovation and Education, through Las Rozas Next, and especially aimed at the potential talent of the city, but also to those who intend to link and develop their projects in Las Rozas. This first edition has had a successful reception, with a total of 49 projects registered, highlighting both the entrepreneurial potential of Las Rozas as well as its attractiveness as a pole of innovation and technological development of reference in the Madrid West area. Therefore, the selection of the 9 projects that will finally be part of the incubation program has not been easy, due to the quality and potential of the proposals submitted. The program began last Thursday, November 11th and will last for the next 4 months, during which the selected projects will receive: o Specialized training adapted to the development needs of the projects. o Personalized mentoring in the areas that each project requires. o Networking with entrepreneurs and business people with whom to exchange knowledge and establish synergies. o Demoday at the end of the program with feedback from investors who will evaluate each project. o Post-incubation follow-up at the end of the program. The most mature projects with growth potential will be able to continue their development with the support of the municipal company Las Rozas Innova. This is the case of some of the projects presented in which, due to their degree of maturity, present specific needs different from those foreseen by the incubation program and which will be analyzed by Las Rozas Innova in order to provide them with other forms of support. Among the 9 selected projects are innovative business proposals based on technology with a very high potential for impact, focused on solving problems in different sectors, such as agriculture, health, technology, mobility, education, payment methods, distribution, HORECA or human resources. “With this first edition of “Incuba Las Rozas” we add one more initiative in our strategic objective of turning the municipality into a benchmark for innovation,” said the mayor of Las Rozas and president of Las Rozas Innova, José de la Uz. “Incuba Las Rozas” comes to complete the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Las Rozas that the City Council has launched: on the one hand, Las Rozas Next, an initiative of the Department of Economy, Employment and Innovation and Education, directed by Mercedes Piera, which encompasses programs that encourage entrepreneurship and the development of ideas and projects from early school age to adulthood; and on the other, the acceleration and financing of more mature projects through the municipal company Las Rozas Innova.

The new Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan of Las Rozas will count on the participation of neighbors and mobility experts. – Las Rozas Innova is developing a new Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan for the city, which will include a diagnosis of needs and an ambitious action plan. – It will have a battery of projects and concrete actions to offer citizens different alternatives in their usual journeys and achieve a sustainable, connected and safe mobility. – Through surveys, studies, field work and working sessions with experts and representatives from different areas of the city, the municipal company has gathered opinions and suggestions to prepare this strategic document to improve mobility. Madrid, November 10, 2021 – Las Rozas Innova, the municipal company of Las Rozas Innovation, is developing a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (PMUS) that will update the existing one, from 2009. It is a strategic document and a new mobility management framework with an action plan to implement in Las Rozas a sustainable, connected, multimodal and safe mobility model adapted to the needs of the city. The new Las Rozas Mobility Plan is based on a thorough and updated diagnosis of the city’s transport needs. To this end, Las Rozas Innova is carrying out a diagnosis of the current situation, with a detailed analysis of the areas that make up the mobility of people who live and come to Las Rozas, whether pedestrians, cyclists, drivers or public transport users. In addition, the new SUMP will have an Action Plan with specific short, medium and long term measures based on the promotion of multimodality, active mobility and the promotion of a more sustainable and accessible mobility. For the drafting of the new SUMP, Las Rozas Innova has compiled all existing studies in the City Council and other competent administrations, such as the Regional Transport Consortium or the National Institute of Statistics. Likewise, it has carried out several field works to collect data on the traffic network, mobility flows, parking, etc. Participation, a key element. Las Rozas Innova has also carried out two surveys in the city: the first was conducted in June to obtain data, opinions and suggestions on last-mile travel in the city. The results of this survey have provided information on the last stretch that people make in their usual journeys, such as the stretch between public transport and the workplace or their home. The second survey was carried out between September and October among citizens and regular visitors to Las Rozas to find out the levels of satisfaction, suggestions and opinions of pedestrians, drivers, cyclists and public transport users. More than 1,200 people participated in this second survey open to citizens and visitors. Fifty-four percent of the people who participated in the survey were women; the most participative age group was between 40 and 65 years of age. In addition to the surveys, last September, Las Rozas Innova organized the “Mobility Challenge”, a working day for the analysis of the challenges and the search for solutions in which mobility experts, municipal representatives of the commercial and business fabric, associations, universities, educational centers, public and private companies in the field of mobility and residents of Las Rozas participated. From this “Mobility Challenge”, Las Rozas Innova obtained an in-depth analysis of the challenges and proposed solutions in three areas: multimodality, micro-mobility and mobility to work. Through this strategy, based on the analysis and technical study of the city’s needs, Las Rozas Innova is preparing an updated SUMP that will be available in the coming months.
